How to clean and check the spark plug
• Clean the area around the spark plug to avoid dirt entering the cylinder.
• Remove both spark plugs and clean with a brass wire brush.
• Check the electrode gap; it must be 0.76 mm.
• Screw the spark plugs back in and tighten with max. 20 Nm tightening torque.
Valve play
• The valve play is critical to the engine's performance
• If you notice a loss of power, have your Briggs&Stratton authorized repair service set
the valve play.
• This is not covered by your warranty!
• For more details on the combustion engine, please refer to the enclosed engine
operation manual!
Generator service
• Replace the carbon brushes on the generator approx. every 2,000 h.
• If needed, use compressed air to blow dirt of the generator housing.
• Wear protective goggles!
Starter battery 12 V / 18 Ah, maintenance-free
• If the external temperature drops below -15°C, remove the battery from the unit.
Keep the battery in a heated room and do not refit until immediately prior to next
starting.
• No maintenance work is required for the battery.
• Before recharging with a battery charger (12 V), make sure you disconnect the battery!
Switch box general information
• The switch box does not require any specific or regular maintenance.
• However, always have defective displays, switches, fuses, etc. replaced immediately.
Putting the power generating set out of service
• For periods of non-use of the power generating set of 2 months or more
• The included Briggs & Stratton engine operation manual describes the correct pro-
cedure for putting the engine out of service
• Empty the power generating set's tank and the carburetor
• Store in a clean and dry place
Power generating set tank
• Capacity approximately 10.5 l
• Running time (at nominal power) approximately 1.5 hours
• If the power generating set's fuel tank has been run completely empty, it will take at
least 2 attempts to restart using the electro-starter or about 8 pulls with the manual
pull starter. Actuate the choke lever in both cases.
• The power generating set's tank is equipped with a roll-over valve for additional tank
venting if required.
• The roll-over valve and or the filler cap provide the required airing and venting.
