Caution! The battery contains acid
• Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and clothes and wear protective gloves and goggles
Attention! The battery is maintenance-free for the duration of its life span
• Never open the battery - it can be destroyed
Procedure:
• Remove tool pouch
• Release battery fastening strap
• First disconnect the MINUS cable (black) then disconnect the PLUS cable (red)
• Change the battery
• First connect the PLUS cable (red) then connect the MINUS cable (black)
• Refasten battery with fastening strap
Air filter
Attention! Wear protective gloves and goggles when cleaning the filter elements!
Attention! Only use suitable media, harmless to humans, when cleaning the air filter.
Attention! Properly dispose of used cleaning agents and soiled filters
The engine is fitted with a foam pre-filter and paper air filter.
Procedure foam pre-filter:
• Open and remove the air filter lid.
• Remove the pre-filter and clean with a water-soluble cleaning agent.
• Carefully rinse the pre-filter and blow out with compressed air.
• Soak the pre-filter in oil and carefully squeeze out any excess oil.
• Fit the pre-filter over the paper filter cartridge and refit the air filter lid.
Procedure paper filter cartridge
• Remove the air filter lid, the filter lid nut, then the paper filter including pre-filter.
• Do not wash or blow out the paper filter. Replace the filter every 200 operating
hours with an original Briggs & Stratton filter.
• When refitting make sure the filter is fitted tightly and that the air filter lid is prop-
erly closed.
• Do not forget to fit the pre-filter over the paper filter cartridge.
Ignition system
Be careful with electric current and hot engine parts
• Make sure that the engine is not running, the emergency stop button is pushed and
the engine is cold
The ignition system is maintenance free. Maintenance is restricted to the spark plug.
