What, if?
Malfunction

After filling the water tank
or
after withdrawing mains plug

after a power supply interruption the ap-
pliance does not switch to the previously
set fan speed
Guarantee:
Your PH14 air purifier-humidifier has been thoroughly tested and inspected prior to leaving the
production factory.
The guarantee is effective for one year from the date of purchase. All parts which are defective
due to material or manufacturing faults will be replaced free of charge during this period.
The guarantee does not cover:
– Defects caused by improper use or repairs attempted by the user.
– Parts which are subject to natural wear as a result of their function.
Retain the original packing for returning a defective appliance. This packing provides the
appliance with the best protection against shipping damage.
Important! The power lead may be replaced only by an electrician or an authorized Defensor
representative.

Cause
Water level in basin is too high
No water in mobile base or in
water basin
– Evaporator mat is missing
– Room temperature is too high
– Appliance very dirty
– Doors or windows are open
– Frequent, prolonged ventilation
of the room (therefore continuous
replacement of humidified room
air by dry outdoor air)
– Room to large
Handle not correctly engaged
Mains plug withdrawn
Natural air humidity is higher than
set air humidity (reference value)
Backup battery is flat
Remedy
• Empty basin with pump
• Clean or replace safety switch
• Call Defensor service organiza-
tion, if necessary
PH14:
• Refill water tanks
• Check water supply
• Clean float switch
PH14A:
• Clean strainer insert and/or re-
place it
• Clean float switch
• Contact Defensor representative
• Install new evaporator mat
• Reduce room temperature to bet-
ween 20 and 22° C
• Perform maintenance (see pages
18 – 20)
• Close doors and windows
• Ventilate for only a short time
(your appliance purifies the
room air)
• You require more than one ap-
pliance
• Engage handle
• Check mains connection
• Check mains fuse for the room
Your appliance can continue to
operate to purify room air
