5. Technical description
5.1 Display
Flow meter TR90 has an LC display with 16 mm high digits.
Displayed is the 5-digit flow volume, the unit of measure (Litres,
US-Gal, UK-Gal) and low battery capacity.
Minimum digital step of the measured value is 0.02 litres,
minimum digital step of non-resettable totalizer is 1 litre.
5.2 Keypad
Keypad with 3 keys "Total", "Reset" and "Mode".
5.3 Battery
Lithium battery (type CR 1/2 AA, 3,6V, 1200 mAh) with a
minimum operating life of approx. 10 years with a flow rate of
1.000.000 litres during this period.
The battery can be replaced after opening the housing. Totals
and calibration values are not affected by the replacement.
Environment protection
Batteries and battery packs are containing dangerous sub-
stances for the environment and the human health.
Do not dispose batteries and battery packs into
the domestic waste, into fire or into water.
Batteries and battery packs must be collected
and recycled.
Within the EC countries you are legally bound
to return batteries and battery packs after use
to the sale shop or a public collecting point.
Taking back of batteries and battery packs is
free of charge.
5.4 Acquisition of measured values
The flow meter is recording pulse signals from the measuring
chamber.
Unit of measure and calibration factor are memorized and
read out failure-free.

5.5 Directions of measuring accuracy
Maximum measurement accuracy of ± 1% is only reached if
calibration factor is adjusted to the respective application.
Different causes can influence the intended measuring
accuracy.
1. Viscosity of liquid
2. Type of liquid
3. High pulsation and flow rate of the delivering pump
4. Mounting conditions
If measuring accuracy is not satisfactory, the flow meter must
be re-calibrated.
A recalibration is in any case also necessary if the flow meter
TR has to be dismantled for cleaning or if other liquids as
water are to be used.
Before calculating the new calibration factor, first a volume
must be filled into an adequate precise vessel. Optionally a
reference flow meter can be used. The new calibration factor
is calculated as follows:
Factor
= Factor
new
old
Example:
A vessel with a volume of 2 l is filled, flow meter displays only
1.90 litres.
Old calibration factor is 1.040.
New calibration factor is calculated as follows:
2.00
1.040 x
=
1.090 (rounded)
1.90
