Manual ISDN telephone adapter
6 Tips and tricks
The following scenarios provide examples of how to program multiple subscri-
ber numbers (MSN) for an ISDN telephone.
You are using 2 lines and your numbers are:
• Main line (Line 1): 044 535 1117
• Reserve line (Line 2): 044 535 1116
You have two ISDN telephones (e.g. 1 Siemens and 1 Philips) and 1 analog fax.
You want the Siemens ISDN telephone to only ring on Line 1 (044 535 1117)
and the Philips telephone only to ring on Line 2 (044 535 1116). You only want
your faxes to be sent and received via Line 2.
First connect the ISDN-TA/analog double plug to «LINE 2» of your modem. Now
connect the RJ11 cable to the RJ11 socket of the ISDN-TA/analog double plug,
subsequently connecting it with «LINE 2» of the ISDN telephone adapter. Then
connect the fax to the TT83 socket of the ISDN-TA/analog double plug. Proceed
with installation as described in chapter 2.2 of this manual. «LINE 1» of the
modem is connected with «LINE 1» of the ISDN telephone adapter via the RJ11
cable as described in chapter 2.2 of this manual.
Program the MSN in the Siemens ISDN telephone by selecting MSN A and
entering the number 1.
Program the MSN in the Philips ISDN telephone by selecting MSN A and
entering the number 2.
You can obtain information on programing the MSN in the operating manual for
your ISDN telephone. In most cases, you can access the MSN menu as follows:
With the M key (Menu), search for the «Installation» (for ISDN corded telephones)
or the «Basestation settings» / «Base settings» (for ISDN cordless telephones).
Then look up the menu for MSN settings and select MSN A. Enter the number
1 or 2 and confirm your entry with OK.
