a) Using the handset
• Select the handset on the switch (3). The switch button in this case will protrude a bit more
than in case of the headset selection (see also the imprint on the left and right of the toggle
switch).
• Make calls as usual.
b) Using the headset
• Select the headset on the switch (3). The switch button in this case will protrude from the
housing a bit more than in the case of the handset selection (see also the imprint on the left
and right of the toggle switch).
• Microphone of the headset can be switched on or off by the "mute" button (2).
• Volume on the headset is adjusted by the rotary knob (7).
In this way, you can adjust the volume on the handset. Adjustment of the basic
volume occurs as usual on the phone (if it allows changes of the handset sound
volume).
c) Being on the phone (making a call) with the headset
Put on the headset. Select the headset on the switch (3).
To be able to make a call, it is required with some phones to lift the handset from the phone
first to initiate a call (dial tone is audible). Then the desired phone number can be dialled by
the phone keypad.
Handset lifting in modern phones can be simulated by pressing a button. In this case, the hand-
set should not be lifted from the phone. The phone number with such phones can be dialled
either before or after pressing the button.
Consult on the matter the operating instructions for your phone.
Conduct a conversation using the headset.
Switch the headset microphone by the „mute" button (2), when necessary. Your interlocutor will
not be able to hear you in this case (e.g., for any queries or the like).
Change the sound volume on the headset using the rotary knob (7).
The switch (3) allows switching between the headset and handset during the phone conver-
sation.
d) Being on the phone (receiving a call) with the headset
Put on the headset. Select the headset on the switch (3).
To be able to receive a call, it is required with some phones to lift the handset from the phone
first. You will be able then to conduct the conversation through the headset.
Handset lifting in modern phones can be simulated by pressing a button.
In this case, the handset should not be lifted from the phone.
Consult on the matter the operating instructions for your phone.
Conduct a conversation using the headset.
Switch the headset microphone by the „mute" button (2), when necessary. Your interlocutor will
not be able to hear you in this case (e.g., for any queries or the like).
The switch (3) allows switching between the headset and handset during the phone conver-
sation.
To end the call, put the handset into its cradle on the phone (or, in a modern phone, press the
respective button).

Poor audio quality, no tone
• Test all switch positions of both slide switches (4 and 5). 8 different settings are possible in
total (A-1, A-2, A-3, A-4, B-1, B-2, B-3, B-4, see the imprints "AB" and "1234" near the slide
switches).
Setting depends on the phone/handset used.
• Adjust the sound volume of the headsets by the rotary knob (5). It only changes the sound
volume of the speaker in the headset, so that the volume of the speakers in the handset
can be adjusted. Adjustment of the basic volume occurs as usual on the phone (if it allows
changes of the handset sound volume).
Your interlocutor does not hear you through the headset
• Check the position of the "mute" button (2). This button mutes the microphone.
• Check your headset, it may be equipped with an own button for muting the microphone.
• Place the microphone close to your mouth.
• Select the proper operating mode (headset) on the switch (3).
Call cannot be received through the headset
• In simple phones, the handset should be lifted from the phone, to receive an incoming call.
Modern phones allow receiving a call by pressing a button. Please consult the operating
instructions for your phone.
Call cannot be made through the headset
• In simple phones, the handset should be lifted from the phone, to make a call. Modern
phones allow making calls even when the handset stays on the cradle. Please consult the
operating instructions for your phone.
The handset and/or headset is inoperative
• Select the proper operating mode (handset) on the switch (3).
• Check the cable connection between handset and switch and/or switch and phone. Do not
mix up the connections of the switch.
