Replacing the dust bag
28
Figure
If the filter status indicator flashes when the nozzle
is lifted from the floor and the highest suction set-
ting is set and then, after a short while, switches to
a permanent red, the dust bag must be changed,
even if it does not appear to be full. In this case it is
essential to change the dust bag due to the type of
material it contains.
As soon as the indicator switches to permanent red,
the vacuum cleaner is switched down to the next
power setting.
The vacuum power setting cannot be changed until
you have switched the appliance off and on again.
Open the dust container lid by moving the locking
lever in the direction of the arrow.
29
Figure
Seal the dust bag by pulling the locking tab and then
remove the bag.
30
Figure
Insert a new dust bag into the holder and close the
dust container lid.
!
Caution: the dust container lid will only close if a
dust bag or the textile filter or dust container is
inserted.
If the filter status indicator still flashes red after the
dust bag has been changed, please check whether
the nozzle, tube or flexible hose is blocked.
Replacing the motor protection
filter/exhaust filter
Cleaning the motor protection filter
The motor protection filter should be cleaned regularly
by knocking out the dirt and rinsing.
31
Figure
Open the dust container lid (see Figure 19).
Pull out the motor protection filter in the direction
of the arrow.
Clean the motor protection filter by tapping it.
If it is very dirty, the motor protection filter should
be rinsed.
The filter must then be left to dry for at least
24 hours.
After cleaning, insert the motor protection filter into
the appliance as far as it will go and close the dust
bag compartment lid.
You can obtain a replacement motor protection filter
from our aftersales service (see replacement parts p.
14).
* Dependent on model
Replacing the HEPA filter*
The HEPA filter should be replaced once a year.
32*
Figure
Press the locking tab in the direction of the arrow
to unlatch the exhaust grille and open it.
Release the HEPA filter by pressing the tab in the
direction of the arrow, take it out and dispose of it.
33*
Figure
Slide the new HEPA filter under the two retaining
ribs and turn it in the direction of the arrow until it
engages.
Close the exhaust grille.
Replacing the activated carbon cartridge*
If your vacuum cleaner is also fitted with an activated
carbon cartridge, this must be replaced once a year.
34*
Figure
Remove the active carbon filter and dispose of it
with the household rubbish.
Insert a new activated carbon cartridge.
If you have used the vacuum cleaner to vacuum up
fine dust particles (such as plaster or cement), clean
the motor protection filter by tapping out the dirt
and, if necessary, replace the motor protection filter
and the exhaust filter.
Care
Always switch off the vacuum cleaner and disconnect the
power cord from the mains before cleaning the appliance.
The vacuum cleaner and plastic accessories can be
cleaned with a commercial plastic cleaner.
!
Do not use a scourer, glass-cleaning agent or an
all-purpose cleaning product.
Never immerse the vacuum cleaner in water.
The dust compartment can, if necessary, be cleaned with
a second vacuum cleaner or simply wiped with a dry cloth
or dusting brush.
Subject to technical changes.
