c) Handling and use
• Never cover the product when it is in use.
• Never touch, operate, plug in or unplug the product with damp
or wet hands. There is a risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
• Never connect the product to the power supply immediately af-
ter it has been transferred from a cold room into a warm one
(e.g., during transport). The condensation that develops in such
cases could damage the device or cause an electric shock! Allow
the product to reach room temperature. Wait until the conden-
sation has evaporated. This might take several hours. Only after
this should the product be plugged into the power supply and
put into use.
• Always pull a mains plug on the gripping surface intended for
this purpose. Never unplug the mains plug from a mains socket
by pulling the cable!
• Make sure that small items, textiles, hair, etc. cannot get into the
rotor. This may not only damage the product but also poses an
injury risk!
• Do not insert objects through the protective grid during opera-
tion, risk of injury!
• When moving the product (e.g. to a different position), switch it
off beforehand. Do not move the product by pulling its cable.
• Never leave the product unattended when it is in operation.
• Always pull the mains plug out of the mains socket before clean-
ing the product, or when it is not to be used for a while. For safe-
ty reasons, pull the plug from the mains socket during a thunder-
storm.
• Never pour any liquids above or next to the product. You run the
risk of causing a fire or a fatal electric shock.
If any liquid has still happened to enter the device, immediately
turn off the power supply to the mains socket to which the ta-
ble fan is connected (turn off the fuse / circuit breaker / residual
current operated circuit breaker of the associated circuits). Only
then can you unplug the mains plug of the table fan from the
mains socket and contact a specialist. Do not use the product
any longer.
• Do not use the product when it is damaged (e.g., housing, pro-
tective grid, mains cable). There is a risk of a life-threatening
electric shock!
A faulty power mains cable may be replaced only by a specialist.
• Safe operation can no longer be assumed if:
- the product shows visible signs of damage
- the product does not work at all or works poorly (leaking smoke
or a smell of burning, audible cracking noises, discolouration
to the product or the adjacent surfaces)
- the product was stored under unfavourable conditions
- it was exposed to heavy loads during transport
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations
of the Employer's Liability Insurance Association for Electrical
Systems and Operating Facilities are to be observed!
• If you have any questions that are not answered in these oper-
ating instructions, please contact our technical department or
another specialist.
Notes on primary and secondary batteries
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must be kept out of the reach of chil-
dren.
• Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around; there is
a risk that they could be swallowed by children or pets. If swallowed,
consult a doctor immediately.
• Leaking or damaged normal/rechargeable batteries coming into con-
tact with the skin can cause acid burns; for this reason use suitable
safety gloves.
• Liquids leaking from batteries/rechargeable batteries are very chem-
ically aggressive. Objects or surfaces coming into contact with
these liquids may be severely damaged. Therefore, keep batteries/
rechargeable batteries in a suitable location.
• Ensure that the batteries are never short-circuited, taken apart or
thrown into a fire. There is a danger of explosion!
• Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries. There is a dan-
ger of explosion! Charge only rechargeable batteries that are intend-
ed for this purpose; use a suitable battery charger.
• Make sure that the (rechargeable) batteries are inserted into the IR
remote control according to the correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-).
• If not used for a long period (e.g. in case of storage), remove the in-
serted batteries/rechargeable batteries. Old batteries/rechargeable
batteries can leak and cause damage to the product; loss of guaran-
tee/warranty!
• Always exchange the whole set of batteries/rechargeable batter-
ies, only use batteries/rechargeable batteries of the same type, by
the same manufacturer and in the same charging state (do not mix
charged batteries with half-charged or flat batteries/rechargeable
batteries).
• Never mix normal batteries with rechargeable batteries. Use either
batteries or rechargeable batteries.
• For the environmentally friendly disposal of batteries and rechargea-
ble batteries, please read the chapter "Disposal".
