4.3 Communications with the sensor via HART

You can connect sensors to the EGS80 (terminals 1, 2, 3) that are
configurable using HART communications. To perform configuration
you will need a hand terminal which must be connected to the sensor
leads. Transmission of the HART signals over the power output of the
EGS80 is not possible.

4.4 Front of the CEGS80

On the front panel of the EGS80 you will find:
• red LED CHK, to indicate a fault on the device
• green PWR LED, to indicate the presence of the
supply voltage
• yellow LED OUT 1, to indicate that relay 1 is active
• yellow LED OUT 2, to indicate that relay 2 is active
• RS 232 serial connector to connect to a PC for
configuration and diagnosis of the EGS80 using the
parameterisation software.
• a display for measured value and error messages,
and for display during configuration mode
• four buttons for parameterisation of the EGS80

Display mode and error messages

In normal operation, the display shows the current measurement value
in the selected units. To select units, see section 6.2.
If restart inhibit (see section 6.4) is triggered but the device is still in
normal operation, the second line of the display will show a
corresponding message.
If a fault occurs, one of the following messages is displayed until the
fault is corrected (as long as this is configured):
• Err Device Failure, Err LB for an open circuit/lead break, Err LK for a
short circuit For a list of the fault messages see section 6.3.
The relays always enter powerless state when a fault occurs.
