INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Tools Required:
4mm and 5mm Hex Wrenches
Torque Wrench (Required)
Carbon Paste
Preparation
• Ensure your fork steerer tube is cut to the proper length.
• Apply carbon paste to the steerer tube.
• Install the headset and any necessary spacers.
Mounting the Handlebar
• Slide the bar/stem assembly onto the steerer tube.
• Install spacers above/below the stem as needed.
• Insert the top cap and bolt, tightening it just enough to eliminate headset
play, following the headset manufacturer's instructions.
• Align the bar/stem with your front wheel.
• Tighten the steerer clamp bolts evenly to 5 Nm.
Cable Routing (if applicable)
• For internal routing, ensure all cables and hoses are prepped and routed
through the proper channels before installation.
• Follow frame manufacturer instructions for full integration compatibility.
Cable Routing with Acros Internal Routing System
• The Acros internal routing system allows seamless integration of brake
hoses and shift cables through the headset and into the frame.
• Begin by feeding the cables/hoses through the ports in the handlebar.
• Guide them down through the Acros headset top cover and spacers, ensur-
ing smooth passage without sharp bends or interference.
• Use the designated cable sleeves or guides to maintain alignment and
minimize friction.
• Make sure to leave enough slack for handlebar rotation and braking/steer-
ing functions.
• Confirm routing alignment with the frame's entry points before proceeding
with brake bleeding or shift cable tensioning.
Accessory Mounting
• Use accessory mounts approved for integrated bars (lights, computers, etc.).
• Do not over-tighten clamps—maximum clamp torque is 2 Nm.
SAFETY CHECKLIST
• Always use a torque wrench to ensure proper installation.
• Inspect for cracks or damage before every ride.
• Do not use incompatible stems or components.
• Do not modify or drill the handlebar.
• For composite components like this handlebar, impact
damage may not be visible. If the handlebar has been
subjected to an impact (e.g., a crash, fall, or severe blow),
it should be returned to an authorized Reserve retailer or
qualified mechanic for inspection, or be replaced immedi-
ately, even if no visible damage is apparent. Continuing to
use a damaged composite component can lead to sudden
failure and serious injury.
• Avoid exposing the handlebar to extreme heat, such as
direct sunlight in a closed vehicle or proximity to strong
heat sources, since high temperatures can affect the mate-
rial properties of composite components.
• Do not over-tighten the stem bolts. They can damage
the steerer tube of the fork and may cause a crash, which
could result in serious injury and/or death.
• Use handlebar plugs to cover the ends of the handlebar.
Failure to cover the ends of the handlebar may cause the
rider to be punctured or cut during a crash, which could
result in serious injury and/or death.
MAINTENANCE
• Wipe clean with a damp cloth.
• Avoid harsh solvents or abrasive cleaners.
• Reapply carbon paste and check torque values at least
every 6 months.
