2.4 Securing your child
WARNING!
NEVER ALLOW YOUR CHILD TO OCCUPY THIS CAR SEAT WHILST
WEARING A COAT, OR BULKY OUTERWEAR. THIS WILL REDUCE
THE CHILD'S LEVEL OF SAFETY IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT.
1)
Place your child in the car seat.
2)
Adjust the height of the headrest, by lifting the lever (8) on the
rear of the headrest, and adjust to leave a space of approx. 2 -
3 cm between the child's shoulder and the belt guide (4) of the
headrest ( Fig. 8 ).
3)
Position the vehicle safety belt as shown in the figures (Fig. 9) and
fasten the safety belt buckle.
WARNING!
THE ADULT SEAT BELT MUST NOT BE TWISTED. IF THIS DOES
HAPPEN, REMOVE THE SAFETY BELT FROM THE FITTING GUIDES
AND RETHREAD, MAKING SURE THE BELT IS FLAT AND STRAIGHT
BEFORE RESECURING YOUR CHILD.

4)
PLEASE, make sure that the horizontal part of the seat belt is
positioned to restrain the child's pelvis. This is the condition that
ensures the highest level of safety in the event of an accident.
5)
Pull the upper part of the diagonal section of the belt upwards,
sliding it through the belt guide (4)
of the headrest, so that the excess belt is recovered by its own
retractor ( Fig. 10 ).
6)
Your child is now correctly secured.
7)
Remember to leave as much space as possible between the child
car seat and the front vehicle seat. This will reduce potential
injury in the event of a collision.
