Complete guide and safety / compliance information
1 - DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Description
1Control PAD is an electronic device that allows the operation of a remote-controlled automation system,
such as a gate or garage door, by entering a PIN code on the keypad.
Control of an automation
PAD is capable of copying the remote control of an automation system and therefore controlling it by beha-
ving exactly like the original remote control.
It can copy all fixed-code remote controls and the majority of rolling-code remote controls, operating in the
frequency bands from 433.0 MHz to 868.0 MHz, using AM and FM modulation. Older low-frequency quar-
tz-based remote controls are not compatible.
The complete list of compatible remote controls is available on the 1Control website or in the Complete Guide.
To control an automation system, it is sufficient to copy just one remote control; it is not necessary to copy
the remote controls of all users.
PAD communicates with the smartphone using Bluetooth LE 4 protocol. Therefore, an Internet connection is
not required to open gates and garage doors.
Opening via keypad
PAD is equipped with a mechanical keypad with buttons from 0 to 9 to enter a PIN code and, if configured via
the app, operate the associated automation.
Operating distance
The maximum distance between PAD and the automation system depends on the type of remote control
used. Typically, this distance ranges between 20 and 40 meters.
The maximum distance between PAD and a smartphone depends on the smartphone model and is typically
around 10 meters.
Reinforced concrete walls or metal enclosures may weaken or block the PAD signal.
Operating conditions
PAD can be installed outdoors and is resistant to rain and weather conditions.
Security
Upon first use of PAD, it is necessary to set an 8-digit numeric PIN code. This PIN must be kept secret. Holders
of the PIN code are considered device administrators.
The PIN code can be reset by performing a factory reset of PAD.
The PAD administrator can create access PIN codes for other users using the sharing features available in
the app.
Communication between PAD and the smartphone is protected by state-of-the-art security algorithms based
on public keys and symmetric end-to-end encryption with ephemeral keys.
Communication between PAD and the automation system uses the same security algorithms as the copied
remote control. Therefore, the level of security provided is the same as that of the original remote control.
Power supply
PAD is supplied with 2 AAA 1.5V alkaline batteries included in the package.
The batteries can be replaced when depleted. PAD retains the copied remote controls and shared access data
even in the absence of power. Battery charge status can be checked via the app.
Battery life varies depending on the number of operations (openings or closings) performed and is typically
about 2 years.
Date and time
PAD is equipped with an internal clock used to verify users' time-based access rights. The internal clock auto-
matically manages European daylight saving time. The date is automatically set by the app upon first startup.

Data and limitations
PAD can control up to 2 different remote-controlled automation systems and supports up to 4 configurable
PIN codes. PAD LITE can control up to 2 different remote-controlled automation systems and supports up
to 100 configurable PIN codes. Additional PIN codes and automation systems can be purchased via the app.
App
The "1Control" App is free and can be downloaded from the Stores for iPhone and Android.
It is compatible with the following systems:
- Smartphone iPhone 4S or later with iOS 10 or later
- Smartphone Android with 4.5 system or later and Bluetooth LE 4
"1Control" app is able to manage many 1Control devices at the same time.
First installation
1. Download the "1Control" app from your smartphone's store
2. Connect with the app to the PAD and set a secret PIN code
3. Copy the remote control following the guided procedure by the app
4. Install PAD near the automation system to be controlled
5. Create access PIN codes via the app
Copy of a remote control
Remote control copying is performed by following the guided procedure available in the app.
PAD automatically recognizes the type of remote control being copied and provides the appropriate copying
procedure via the app.
Note: When copying a remote control, it is advisable to be near the corresponding gate or garage. The comple-
te list of compatible remote controls is available on the 1Control website or in the Complete Guide.
Factory reset
You can completely delete all data stored on PAD by restoring it to factory conditions. To perform a reset,
remove the batteries, press and hold the "0" key, insert the batteries, and continue holding the "0" key for more
than 15 seconds. The reset process may take up to 2 minutes..
The restoration of the device causes the loss of all the memorized remote controls and invalidates all the
shares created.
