8. Flower variations
Here's how
Place 3 needles in the first, third and fourth holes of the bar. Crochet the border
between the third and fourth needles with 33 loops on both sides.
Then use a large darning needle to pull a different coloured thread through the
longer loops and a turquoise coloured thread through the shorter loops to avoid
tangling when removing the needle. Once this is done, remove the top bar of the
hairpin lace loom and remove the lace from the needle.
Firmly pull together the turquoise thread and knot on the back side. This auto-
matically creates the flower shape.
Now work the flower edge in turquoise:
First round: * 1 slst into the loop, 4 ch. Repeat starting from *.
Second round: * 1 sc, 3 ch. Repeat starting from *. Crochet 1 double crochet, 2
double treble crochets
Crochet 1 picot ( 3 ch, 1 slst in the first ch),
Crochet 2 double treble crochets, 1 double crochet, 1 half treble crochet, 1 sin-
gle crochet in the second chain stitch arc from the previous round. Repeat star-
ting from *.
Close off to a round with 1 slst.
Now remove the contrast colour thread.
