Choose the required amount of coffee powder by turning the GRIND TIME dial (E).
The higher the time, the longer the appliance grinds and the larger the amount of
coffee powder will be. The shorter the time, the shorter the appliance grinds and
the lower the amount of coffee powder will be. Turn the notch on the dial to the
desired number of seconds. The recommended time setting depends on the size of
the portafilter and the type of coffee. For further information, please refer to the
Sec
coffee chart on page 71.

To make an espresso, we recommend setting the grind size controller (D) to the
position "15" in the ESPRESSO range by spinning the bean container (as a basic
setting, so to speak, based on which you can optimise the setting according to your
preferences). Here, too, experiment with every preparation to find out whether you
like the espresso better when it is ground finely or coarsely by adjusting the grind size
setting in little steps. The lower the grind size, the finer the grind. In this context, the
amount of coffee powder should be adjusted with the GRIND TIME dial (E).
Please refer to the coffee chart on page 71 of this manual
Tip: To test the grind size and the amount of coffee powder, you should make an
espresso with each setting.
A single espresso is defined by approx. 30 ml espresso in 30 seconds of brewing.
A double espresso is defined by approx. 60 ml espresso in 30 seconds of brewing.
