MEASURE WITH
Insert the cable lead CV into the socket of the unit.
Connectthe unit to the spark plug lead with the
clip PZavoidingcontacts withanyothermetallicor
electrical components.
Start the engine.

READING
The reading shows the rpm of the engine. The value is
actual on single cylinder engines which have an ignition
pulse once every 3600. In practice this is most single
cylinder 2 and 4 stroke engines, or twin cylinder 4 stroke
engines. When the equipment is used on engines which
have an ignition pulse every 1800 to obtain the correct
reading the display should be divided by 2. This can be
done by keeping the button PS pressed.
This function is useful when testing 4 cylinders 4 stro-
kes engines which have a distributor (coil ignition) or
when testing twin cylinder engines with only one igni-
tion source.

BATTERY
When replacing the battery:
The battery must be replaced every 12 months and
must be removed from the equipment when it is being
stored for long periods.
When the battery is discharged and requires replacing,
the dividing symbol -3will indicate on the display.

REPLACING
Place the equipment on a soft surface, i.e. a cloth, with
the display facing downwards.
Undo the 2 screws securing cover CP and remove co-
Ver.
Disconnect connector CN.
Replace battery BT with one shown on the table below.
Use only good quality batteries.
Remember that alkaline batteries will give longer Servi-
ce. Reconnect connector CN ensuring correct polarity.
Place the battery carefully in its seat and check the cor-
rect positioning on the foam rubber seat.
Replace cover CP and secure with the 2 screws.
