Instructions for safe use and care
The oil/fat has reached the correct
temperature when a drop of water
immediately vaporises on the surface of the
fat. You can now remove the pot from the hob
and place on the fondue frame.
Only use meat that has been dried thoroughly.
Marinated meat can cause severe fat splashes
in hot oil/fat or in hot stock.
Initially you should only cook 2–3 pieces
of meat at the same time. Otherwise the
temperature falls too much and water settles
on the base of the pot. If the temperature
then increases again to more than 100°C, the
water vaporises and can result in severe fat
splashes.
Make sure that the temperature does not drop
too much over the entire cooking time and
only use the fondue together with the splash
guard.
Please note!
Never leave the fondue unattended when in
use. Pay particular attention when the burner
is burning at full power and you have added a
small amount of fat but no meat. The fat can
heat up to its smoking point and ignite.
Be careful of naked flames! Never allow
combustible objects to come into close
contact with the burner.
Also be careful with hot oil and fat.
Be careful with hot fat.
Do not leave hot pots unattended. Do not
extinguish burning fat with water. Use a
blanket or a fire extinguisher.
After use, rinse the fondue pot with hot water
as soon as possible.
Soak stubborn food residue and gently remove
with a sponge or brush. (We recommend using
a Scotch Brite "3M Non-Scratch" cleaning
sponge).
Do not use steel wool or abrasive scouring
agents.
Hard water and certain types of food can
result in limescale deposits or blue shimmering
discolouration on the inside of the pan.
Remove this promptly and on a regular
basis by boiling vinegar in the cookware. In
persistent cases, we commend using WMF
Purargan® — available from your WMF dealer.
Dry the fondue pot thoroughly before storing
it.

Information for cleaning in the dishwasher
Only use dishwasher detergent by well-known
brands. Always fill the containers for salt and
rinse aid promptly. No salt should come into
contact with the inside of the dishwasher.
A concentration of salt can cause corrosion.
After filling the containers, we therefore
recommend that you run an intermediate
rinse cycle while the machine is empty.
Rust can be transferred to the cookware from
other objects in the dishwasher. This can
cause corrosive damage if it is not removed
immediately.
Open the dishwasher as soon as possible
after the end of the rinse cycle to allow for
ventilation.
Remove the fondue pot from the machine as
soon as possible and do not allow to stand for
long periods in damp air, otherwise stains may
appear on the surface.
Dry the fondue pot thoroughly before storing
it.
Information for electric hobs
For more efficient energy use, the hotplate
diameter on electric hobs must match with the
diameter of the pot or pan. Use the hotplate
that corresponds with the size of the base diam-
eter. This saves time and energy.
Information for induction hobs
Please note the following. Induction is a very
rapid heat source. Never heat up frying pans or
pots with no contents as overheating the cook-
ware can damage it.
When cooking on a high heat there may be a
humming noise. This noise is due to technical
reasons and does not indicate that your hob or
cookware is faulty.
The pot size and the hob size must match, oth-
erwise the hob (magnetic field) will not react to
the pot base.
