the recording.
Two-Track
Recording
The UHER "4000 REPORT-L" employs the two-track recording system
according to International standard. This means that only the upper
half of the width of the tape is used for recording, so that the lower
half iS still unused after the tape has passed the sound head. Then the
reels are reversed:
this causes the hitherto unused lower half of the
tape to take the place of the upper half. An equally long recording
can be made on this second half of the width of the tape. The upper
and lower halves of the tape and the recordings made on them are
called first and second track respectively. For easy distinction of the
tracks, the tape is equippedwith a greenleader (indicating track No. 1)
and a red leader (indicating track No. 2). Always start with the green
leader, i.e. with trad( No. I.
