Compander
(factory setting: OFF)
The compander function provides an improved audio quality (by noise reduction).
Note: Enable this feature for all devices involved.
Whisper Mode
When the whisper mode is activated (especially when using a headset) gentle transmissions will
be amplified on transmitter side.
The recipient receives the message at a normal volume.
Alarm/Emergency function
(factory setting: OFF)
In case of emergency an emergency call can be activated (= automatic emission of an alarm
tone) through a keystroke.
Pushing the PTT button stops the alarm tone.
PTT ID
(factory setting: OFF)
A programmed DTMF tone sequence is used as a call tone or to control e.g. relays or repeater.
Note: Each channel can be assigned individually.
Busy channel lockout
(factory setting: OFF)
For reducing interferences during radio communication, a transmit lockout can be activated which
blocks the transmission when the channel is busy. When pressing the PTT button, a beep sounds
and the radio set does not start transmitting. The beep finishes when the PTT button is released.
When the green status LED is not illuminated anymore, the channel is again free and transmission
can be started.
TOT automatic transmitter cut-off
(factory setting: 180 sec.)
A permanent transmission on one channel can lead to damages on the radio set. In case the PTT
button on the radio set is actuated unintentionally (e.g. when transporting the device in a toolbox),
the function ime ut imer avoids an unwanted permanent transmission. If the duration of a

transmission exceeds a specified time (30 300 sec.), a warning signal sounds and the transmission
is automatically interrupted. The warning signal finishes as soon as the PTT button is released.
Afterwards, transmission can be started again by pressing the PTT button.
The automatic transmitter cut-off can also be deactivated (OFF).
Monitor momentary
(factory setting: OFF)
This function is used to bypass the squelch, as long as the lateral function key is pressed. When
the pilot tone process (CTCSS/DCS) is activated, the receiver muting is deactivated.
Adjusting the squelch
(factory setting: level 6)
For adjusting the squelch, 9 levels are available (level 1: very low signal strength (noise), level 9:
high signal strength).
Battery save mode
(factory setting: Auto Save)
For increasing the operating time, the battery save mode is automatically activated if no radio
operation is active for more than 5 seconds or if no key on the radio set is pressed. The function
switches off again as soon as a signal is received or a key on the radio set is pressed. The dwell
times of the stand-by mode can be adjusted with the help of the software (OFF, 1:2, 1:3, 1:4, 1:5,
and Auto Save).
Speech announcement or beep
(voice or beep) (factory setting: English speech
announcement)
The radio set can be adjusted such that the device settings are either announced in English or
confirmed by a beep or such that both functions are deactivated.
