over ramps or slopes. To do this, loosen the adjusting screw with a spanner and fold the foot plates inwards
or outwards to achieve the desired position. Then tighten the screw carefully.
5. USING THE REAR SUPPORT PEDALS AND BRAKES
Use the rear support pedals to raise the front wheels, for example, when climbing a kerb. To do this, push
down on the rear support pedals with one foot. Do not lift the small front wheels by pushing down on the
handles, as this could damage the wheelchair.
- Climbing a kerb: Approach the kerb from the front. The caregiver should use the rear support pedals to
raise the front wheels and lower them onto the kerb once the kerb has been raised. Finally, the caregiver
should push the wheelchair forward, lifting it slightly to raise the kerb if necessary.
- Lowering a kerb: Position the front wheels in front of the kerb edge. The caregiver should use the support
pedals to raise the front wheels and tilt the occupant slightly backwards. While keeping the wheels up,
lower the wheelchair slightly towards the kerb.
WARNING
When going down a kerb, the front wheels should be raised to prevent the occupant from
falling off. These are recommendations only; they may not be appropriate in all cases.
6. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
To clean the product, use a slightly damp cloth, never wet, and be sure to dry it afterwards with another
