4. Connections
NOTE
Connecting before initial programming
LSM only recognizes readers if they are connected before the initial pro-
gramming.
1. Connect readers before the initally programming the controller.
2. For connecting further readers: Reset the controller, connect the
Fault through electromagnetic fields
Signals on the connection cable between reader and controller are influenced externally
by electromagnetic fields. A shielded cable reduces the influence of disruptive signals
from outside.
Use a shielded cable.

Ground loop through shielding
Remote devices may have a slightly different ground potential. A shield connected on
both sides represents a second ground connection through which this potential differ-
ence is compensated. The resulting current flow can interfere with the data transfer.
Only connect the screen on one side to the common ground potential, e.g. on the

reader (WP variant: Shield is led out on reader side together with ground).
