Explanation of the Symbols and Signal Words
Danger symbol: This symbol indicates dangers of injury.
Read through the associated safety notices carefully
and follow them.

Intended Use
•
The solar light is intended to be used for decorating outside
spaces. Its battery charges up in daylight via the solar panel.
This stored energy allows the LED to glow in the dark.

The product is designed for personal use only and is not in-
tended for commercial applications. The product should only
be used as described in these instructions. Any other use is
deemed to be improper.
IMPORTANT NOTICES

The product is not a toy. Do not leave children and animals
unsupervised with the product in order to avoid injuries!
■
Keep the packaging material away from children and animals.
There is a danger of suffocation!
■
CAUTION – Danger of Burns from Battery Acid! If the bat-
tery leaks, avoid physical contact with the battery acid. Wear
protective gloves if necessary. If you touch battery acid, rinse
the affected areas with abundant clear water straight away and
seek medical assistance immediately.
■
Protect the product from flames and impacts.
■
Never immerse the product in water or other liquids! It is only
splashproof.
■
During extreme weather conditions (e.g. storm, hail) or if the
product will not be used for a long time, switch off the product
and store it in a dry place.
■
Do not take the product apart (except for disposal). Have any
repairs done only by a specialist workshop or the customer
service department. The individual LEDs cannot be replaced.
■
The product should not be placed near to other light sources
such as street lamps or other lamps, so that the LEDs can be
switched on automatically.
■
Keep the solar panel clean so that the greatest possible ab-
sorption of light is ensured. Wipe down the solar panel (and if
necessary also the remaining components of the product) with
a damp cloth. Do not use any caustic or abrasive cleaning
agents to clean the product! These might damage the sur-
faces.

Putting Into Operation
The battery has to be charged before the LEDs can light up. To
make sure that the battery lasts for as long as possible, it should
be fully charged (around 6 – 8 hours).
1. Remove any possible films, stickers or transport protection
from the product. Never remove the rating plate and any
possible warnings.
2. Place the solar light in a location where it can receive direct
sunlight for as much of the day as possible (in an open area,
not under trees etc.). Place the light on a dry, elevated and
even surface. Do not place it directly on the ground so that
no water can get into it when it rains! Make sure that it does
not present a trip hazard.
3. There is a sliding switch on the lantern. Slide it to the ON posi-
tion to switch on the solar unit. (Slide it to OFF to switch it off.)
Cleaning
•
To clean the solar panel, remove the lantern and release the
solar unit from the light cover. Turn the solar unit a little until it
can be removed.

After cleaning, place the solar unit back on the light cover in
such a way that the locking lugs on the edge of the light cover
are sunk in the notches in the edge of the solar unit. Twist the
solar unit shut.

Remove the battery
Take the battery compartment cover off the solar unit. The battery
can then carefully be removed.
