The reception quality depends mainly on geographic location. Normally there
should be no reception problems within a 1,500 km radius around Frankfurt.
Therefore, please note the following steps:
• The recommended distance to any interfering sources like computer
screens or TV sets is at least 1.5 - 2 meters.
• Within concrete walls (reinforced with steel) such as basements, the
received signal is naturally weakened. In extreme cases, please place the
unit close to a window to improve reception.
• During night-time, the atmospheric interference is usually less severe and
reception is possible in most cases. A single daily reception is adequate to
keep the accuracy deviation under 1 second.
7. Operation
• The device will automatically quit the setting mode if no button is pressed
for 20 seconds.
• Press and hold the + or – button in setting mode for fast mode.
7.1 Manual settings
• Press and hold the SET button in normal mode for three seconds to enter
the setting mode.
• DEU (default) flashes on the display.
• Press the + or – button to set the day-of-the week language: GERMAN
(DEU), SPANISH (ESP), FRENCH (FRA) or ENGLISH (ENG).
• If you select English, the display will now appear in English.
• Press the SET button again to do the settings in the following sequence:
the button tone (BEEP ON - default), DCF reception (DCF ON - default), the
time zone (UTC 0 - default), the 12 or 24 hours system (24 Hr - default),
the hours, the minutes, the year, the month, the date, the month/day
sequence D/M or M/D (D/M - default) and the temperature unit °C or °F
(TEMP °C - default). Press the + or – button to adjust it.
• Confirm the settings with the SET button.
• If the DCF reception is activated (DCF ON), the manually set time will be
overwritten by the DCF time when the signal is received successfully.

7.1.1 Key tones
• Press the + or – button to activate (BEEP ON) or deactivate (BEEP OFF) the
key tone in setting mode.
• Confirm the setting with the SET button.
7.1.2 DCF reception
• By default, the DCF reception is activated (DCF ON) and after successful
reception of the DCF signal no manual time setting is necessary.
• Press the + or – button in setting mode if you want to deactivate the DCF
reception (DCF OFF).
• Confirm the setting with the SET button.
• The DCF reception symbol disappears.
7.1.3 Time zone setting
• In the setting mode, press the + or – button to make the time zone correc-
tion (-12/+12).
• The time zone correction is needed for countries where the DCF signal can
be received but the time zone is different from the DCF time (e.g. +1=one
hour plus).
• Confirm the setting with the SET button.
7.1.4 24- or 12-hour system setting
• You can choose between the 12- or 24-hour system in setting mode.
• Press + or – button.
• In the 12-HR system AM (before noon) or PM (after noon) appears on the
display instead of the seconds.
• Confirm the setting with the SET button.
7.2 Maximum/Minimum function
• Press the MAX/MIN button in normal mode. MAX appears on the display.
• You can now see the maximum value for the outdoor temperature since
the start-up or the last reset with time and date of recording.
• Press the MAX/MIN button again. The minimum outdoor temperature
value appears. Repeat the process for the indoor values.
• Press the MAX/MIN button again to return to normal mode.
