5.2 Before the first use
- Read the instructions and safety guidelines carefully before using the device.
- Remove all packing material and make sure that all parts as in chapter 7 Scope of delivery are present and in
proper condition.
- Wipe the inside and the outside of the device with a soft cloth, slightly moistened if necessary, and dry it off
thoroughly.
- Clean the dehydration trays and the fruit leather tray with warm water and a mild detergent. Dry all parts
thoroughly and place them in the appliance.
- Heat the empty device at 70 °C for approx. 30 minutes; the slight odour that will probably be produced is
completely harmless. Ensure good ventilation of the room during this period!
5.3 Use
- Place the appliance on a suitable surface (not on a metal surface; not on fabrics etc.).
- Prepare the pieces of food. Distribute them evenly on the required amount of trays, taking care that they do
not touch each other. To prepare fruit leather use the fruit leather tray. Place the fruit leather tray on a
dehydration tray.
- Put the trays in the food dehydrator and close the door.
- Insert the power plug into a suitable socket. An acoustic signal sounds and the display shows 0.
- Press the button TIME/TEMP. The display shows the preset temperature and time of 70 °C and 10 hours. If
needed you can adjust the preset temperature and time.
- As long as the temperature indicator flashes in the display, you can adjust the desired temperature by pressing
the buttons +/- in steps of 5 °C from 35 °C to a maximum of 70 °C.
- Press the button TIME/TEMP again, the display for the time flashes. Pressing the buttons +/- you can select
from 1 hour to a maximum of 24 hours in steps of 1 hour.
- By pressing the START/STOP button, the device starts operating.
- To change the set time or temperature while the appliance is operating, press the button TIME/TEMP and
then the + or – button.
- To interrupt or prematurely stop the drying process, press the START/STOP button.
- After the set time has elapsed, an acoustic signal sounds and the drying process is stopped automatically.
The fan keeps running for short time.
- Open the door and remove the trays.
- After use, unplug the power cord from the socket to turn off the unit completely and allow it to cool.
Overheat protection
This unit is equipped with an overheat protection, which provides automatic shutdown at high temperatures. In
this case, unplug the power cord and allow the unit to cool for a few minutes before restarting the drying process.
