Setting the Cutting Length
1. Switch off the appliance. ON is visible on the switch.
2. Select a comb attachment.
The comb attachments are
labelled with numbers.
3. Fit a comb attachment:
Refer also to illustration B
on page 3. Slide the
blades of the shaving head
into the teeth of the comb attachment.
4. To remove the comb attachment, pull it off the shaving
head.
Cutting Hair and Trimming the Beard
1. Select the cutting length with a comb attachment.
2. Turn the appliance so that you can see the back. Set the
switch (2) to the left position.
3. Switch the appliance on. OFF is visible on the switch.
WARNING:
• Switch off the appliance before cleaning. Unplug the power sup-
ply unit from the socket.
• Do not immerse the appliance, the charging station or the power
supply unit in water!
CAUTION:
• Also do not clean the appliance under running water!
The electronics could be damaged.
• Do not use a wire brush or other abrasive objects.
• Do not use any sharp or abrasive cleaning agents.
• Regular cleaning and maintenance guarantee optimum
results and a long service life.
• Remove hair residues after each use with the cleaning
brush.
• Clean the outside of the appliance if necessary with a
slightly damp cloth.
• Clean the power supply unit only with a dry cloth.
Removing / Attaching the Shaving Head
The shaving head is snapped into the housing. Please also
refer to illustrations C and D on page 3.
1. Press the shaving surface backwards with one thumb to
release the catch.
2. After cleaning, insert the shaving head into the housing
with the catch first. Press the shaving surface against the
housing until you hear it click into place.

Cleaning
Thinning Hair
The appliance has a thinning function.
• Use the appliance with a comb attachment.
• You can achieve different results with the different set-
tings of the switch (2).
Trimming Contours and Shaving Out the Neck
• Use the appliance without the comb attachment.
• Set the switch (2) to the left position.
• The shaving head enables precise trimming of the beard
contours and clean shaving of the hairline at the nape
of the neck.
End Operation
Slide the switch down.
Important Care Advice
To maintain the cutting performance of the shaving head
for a long time, regularly apply 1 – 2 drops of acid-free / res-
in-free oil, such as shaving head oil, sewing machine oil or
precision mechanics oil to the shaving head. This lubrication
keeps the shaving head running smoothly and prevents the
blades from becoming blunt.
Storage
• Clean the appliance as described and allow it to dry
completely.
• Always store the appliance out of the reach of children in
a well-ventilated and dry place.
• The storage temperature should be between 10 °C and
20 °C.
• We recommend storing the appliance in its original pack-
aging if you do not intend to use it for a longer period
of time. Remove the rechargeable batteries / batteries
beforehand.
• Rechargeable batteries lifespan: Even when switched
off, the rechargeable batteries are constantly discharging.
