CAUTION:
• Always unplug the power supply unit from the wall
socket after charging.
Handling Batteries
Do not charge batteries!
Do not disassemble batteries!
Do not short-circuit batteries!
Observe polarity (+ / −)!
Danger of explosion!
Do not expose batteries to intense heat, such as
sunshine, fire or similar.
• Batteries can leak battery acid. If the appliance will not
be used for a longer period of time, remove the batteries.
• If a battery leaks, do not rub the liquid into the eyes or
mucous membranes. In case of contact, wash hands,
rinse eyes with clean water. Seek medical attention if any
discomfort persists.
• Different battery types and new and used batteries must
not be used together.
• Batteries are not to be disposed of together with do-
mestic wastes. Return used batteries to the responsible
collection points or to the dealer.
Power Supply
The rechargeable batteries included in the scope of delivery
can also be replaced by non-rechargeable AA / R6, 1.5 V
batteries.
WARNING: Explosion Hazard!
Do not charge batteries!
• If you are using the appliance with non-rechargeable
batteries, ensure that the appliance is not connected
to the power supply unit under any circumstances.
• If you place the appliance with non-rechargeable bat-
teries in the storage / charging station, the power sup-
ply unit shall not be connected to the storage / charging
station under any circumstances!
Notes for Use
• Only trim main or beard hair with the appliance.
• Only cut dry hair with the appliance.
• Start with the longest setting and trim your main hair /
beard hair gradually to the desired length.

Inserting the Batteries /
Rechargeable Batteries
1. Remove the appliance and the rechargeable batteries
from the packaging.
2. Open the battery compartment on the back of the
appliance.
3. Insert both rechargeable batteries (2 × 1.2 V, type AA / R6,
600 mAh, NiMH). Ensure that the polarity is correct (see
battery compartment base)!
4. Close the battery compartment again.
Charging the Rechargeable Battery
WARNING:
Ensure that rechargeable batteries (accumulators) of
type AA / R6, NiMH, 600 mAh, are inserted in the battery
compartment. There is a risk of explosion if you attempt
to charge non-rechargeable batteries!
1. Switch off the appliance:
down. ON is visible on the switch.

2. Connect the power supply plug with one of the connec-
tion sockets listed below.
• There is a connection socket directly at the lower end
of the appliance.
• Or place the appliance in the charging / installation
station. The connection socket is located at the rear.
3. Connect the power supply unit to a socket.
- The charging indicator lights up during the charging
process.
- The charging indicator light gives no indication of the
rechargeable battery's charge status.
- Mains-only operation is not possible.
4. Charge the appliance for 12 hours before using it for the
first time.
5. Complete all further charging after 10 hours at the latest.
- Always unplug the power supply unit after 10 hours
of charging.
You will extend the service life of the rechargeable
batteries if you observe the following:
• Wait until the rechargeable batteries are almost empty
before charging.
• Do not leave the appliance connected to the charger for
more than 10 hours.
• Only charge the appliance at an ambient temperature
between 0 °C and + 40 °C.
• If the rechargeable batteries are defective, replace them
with two new ones of the same type. Observe the infor-
mation under "Technical Data".
