About
E.I.D.C.
When an input signal is too strong it overdrives the amplifier, which causes distortion. In order to
protect the user's audio equipment and to create a superior listening expedience Edifier has developed
a distortion protection system called E.I.D.C. (Electronic Intelligent Distortion Control). This
patent-pending and proprietary system uses a microprocessor to monitor the Total Harmonic Distortion
(THD) in real time by comparing the input signal to the output signal, and adjusts the amplifier gain
level automatically.
E.D.I.C. is a standard feature of this product. When the system detects distortion the power light will
blink once, and the system volume level will decrease one step; E.I.D.C. will remain active until
distortion is no longer detected.
