ATTENTION
Attention!
When using products, several safety warnings must be
observed to prevent injuries and damage. For this rea-
son, please carefully read this operating manual / safety
instructions. If you hand the product over to another
person, please hand over this operating manual / safety
instructions as well. We accept no liability for accidents
or damage that occur due to a failure to observe this
manual and the safety instructions.
WARNING
The voltages specified on the phase tester are rated
voltages. The phase tester may only be used at the
specified voltage or within the specified voltage range.
DANGER
Danger to life due to electric shock!
• Phase testers may only be used to determine and
check the phase conductor.
• Phase testers are not designed for use on live equip-
ment in order to determine the state (operating volt-
age present or not present) of low-voltage systems.
• Only use the phase tester in the voltage range from
125 to 250 volts ~.
• Do not use a defective phase tester whose function
and/or safety is clearly impaired.
• The phase tester must always be checked for proper
function shortly before use.
• Only use the phase tester in dry conditions.
• The sealing caps must not be removed. If the cap or
the housing has been opened, the phase tester may
no longer be used as safety is impaired.
• The phase tester must not be used when exposed to
precipitation such as dew or rain.
• Damaged phase testers whose function and/or safety
is obviously impaired must not be used.
WARNING
Never use the phase tester as a screwdriver
on live system parts.
Before each use:
1. The phase tester and the insulation sheath must al-
ways be checked for proper function shortly before
use. Damaged phase testers must not be used.

2. Check the function of the glow lamp of the phase tes-
ter on a connected socket. Dispose of damaged or
6
malfunctioning phase testers immediately.

WARNING
7
Not noticing the light indicator does not guar-
antee freedom from voltage.
ATTENTION
The following factors may affect the percepti-
bility of the indicator light:
Unfavourable lighting conditions, e.g. sunlight.
Temperatures outside the range of -15 °C to +40 °C.
Frequencies outside the range of 50 to 500 Hz.
Unfavourable locations such as on wooden stepladders,
insulating floor coverings and in AC networks that are
not operationally earthed.
To determine whether an AC voltage is present, carry
out the following steps:
1. Hold the tip of the phase tester against a contact of
the electric lead.
2. And touch the other end of the phase tester with a fin-
ger.
If AC voltage is present, the glow lamp lights up.
