6. FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
6.2 LOCKSTAR with handle for Windows and Glazed Doors (LG)
LOCKSTARdenotesaseriesofproductsforadditionalprotectionofwindows,
glazeddoorsandlift/slidingdoors.Forwindowsandglazeddoorsthe
protectionisprovidedbyacombinationofmechanicallockingandelectronic

monitoring/alarming.
Operating the mechanical lock:
Mechanicallockupwards(windowsashnottilted):
• Spindleisblockedandfi  xedinitscurrentposition.Electronicsare
activatedandthemovementofthewindowismonitored.
• Thealarmsignal(acousticandvisual)isgivenifabreak-inoccurs
(prisingopen,breakingopenorbreakingtheglass).Thealarm,
durationapprox.3minutesat115dB(A),cannotbeswitchedOFF .
Mechanicallockupwardsinthetiltedposition:
• Twotypesofmonitoringareactivated.
• Whenthetiltedwindowmoves(tensionandpressure),thealarm
isnottriggered.
• Whenunlockingthehandlebeforeclosingthewindow,thealarmis
triggered.
• Whenthetiltedangleexceeds45°,thealarmwillbetriggered.
• CAUTION:Alwaysclosethewindowbeforeunlockingit.
Operating the handle and mechanical lock
Openingtiltingorclosingthewindow:
• Turnthehandletothe3,6,9or12o'clockposition.Ifthehandle
isinthe3or9o'clockposition,themechanicallockcannotbe
activated.
• Thealarmmonitoringisactivatedbypushingthelockingdeviceup-
wards.Thealarmmonitoringisdeactivatedbypushingthelocking
devicedownwards.
InordertopreventirreparabledamagetoyourLOCKSTARoryour
window,thehandlemustnotbemovedwhenitislocked.
Thehandlemustalwaysbeunlockedbeforemovingit!
