1 • DESCRIPTION
The KINETEC Adventa+ is a Continuous Passive Motion device for EXTENSION-FLEXION mobilization of the HIP
and KNEE joints.

2 • UNPACKING - PACKING
Unpacking:
a - Remove the KINETEC Adventa+ from the packaging.
b - Loosen the 2 black knobs (1) and adjust the thigh support in maximum position, then tighten the 2 knobs.
c - Move the extension bars (2) to the self (locking position) by pulling the carriage away from the machine.
d - Loosen the black knob (3) and adjust the foot plate.
The KINETEC Adventa+ is ready to use.
Packing:
e - Loosen the 2 black knobs (1) and adjust the thigh support to the maximum position, then tighten the 2 knobs.
f - Stop the unit at 0° (at the position indicated by the label).
g - Pull the knob (4) and push the extension bars (2) back into the unit (while raising the knee axis).
h-i - Adjust the thigh length to the minimum position and position the foot plate flat against the carriage.
a - Place the KINETEC Adventa+ into the packaging.
The KINETEC Adventa+ is ready to be shipped.
3 • ELECTRICAL CONNECTION: SAFETY FIRST.
Connect the power cord (5) to the KINETEC Adventa unit.
(The Voltage should be between 100 and 240 Vac 50/60 Hz).
IMPORTANT:
Check that the plug fits securly into outlet being used.
The outlet must be grounded.
Use only the power cord delivered with the unit.
Ensure that the power cord is not entangled with the machine before operating.
Fuse change
Warning: Replace the fuse with one of the same type and value.
4 • SAFETY
The healthcare professional determines the CPM protocol to be used (set up, duration and frequency of each session).
The patient must understand the Start/Stop/Reverse function of the hand control (see the paragraph 5).
The KINETEC Adventa+ unit is CE marked (Directive 89/336/CEE, 93/42/CEE).
The KINETEC Adventa+ does not emmit magnetical, electrical or other types of interference or interfere with other devices.

5 • START UP
Turn on the power switch (6). The hand control will read
Locking the hand control settings:
To lock the hand control control, simultaneously press the keys "-" and "+" . The display will read "LOCK", When locked, it
is possible to read the settings of the operational parameters and the START/STOP/REVERSE function will be operational.
To unlock the hand control, simultaneously press the "-" and "+" keys and the display will now read "UNLOCK".
We recommend that the switch be kept in the locked position during the session.
Display
7 - 3 characters indicate the EXTENSION limit.
8 - 3 characters indicate the FLEXION limit.
9 - 8 characters indicate messages. (RUN, STOP, EXT, FLEX, SPEED, FORCE, PAUSE, etc.).
10 - 3 characters indicate the real angle of the KINETEC Adventa+.
Key functions
11 - Reading or selecting EXTENSION limit from -3° to 110°.
12 - Reading or selecting FLEXION limit from 115° to 2°.
13 - Reading or selecting SPEED from 5 to 1.
14 - These keys will enable you to, by selecting, to reduce or increase the operating values (blinking value),
15 - This key enables you to start, stop and reverse the direction of movement.
15 - This key enables you to start, stop and reverse the direction of movement.
IMPORTANT: for maximum safety, the hand control should always be given to the patient.
16 - Reading or selecting PAUSE in EXTENSION or FLEXION limit from 900 seconds (15 minutes) to 0 second.
17 - Reading or selecting TIME COUNTER from 24H00MIN to 00H00MIN
At the end of the session, the display reads «TIMER 00H00MIN» and the unit stops at an average angle use.
Depress + or - to select a new session time.
18 - Reading or selecting movement inversion LOAD from: _ _ _ _ _ _ = maxi load to _ = mini load.
- RESET TIME function
First, stop the machine. Then, simultaneously depress the EXTENSION and FLEXION keys.
Press the START/STOP key twice to reset the counter.
This function will allow you to read the time of operation since the last reset operation was performed.
