MAINTAINING THE APPLIANCE

8.1 Cleaning the bowl

The main steps of this task are illustrated in Figure 8, on
3
page 102.
We recommend cleaning the bowl after each use. Proceed as
follows:
Let the appliance cool down completely and remove the grill.
1
Close the air supply holes at the bottom of the central pipe
2
(Fig. 8a).
Remove the bottom grid from the bowl and brush the ashes
3
into the pipe (Fig. 8b).
Lift the appliance and pour the ashes from the central pipe
4
into a bucket (Fig. 8c).

8.2 Cleaning the grill

The main steps of this task are illustrated in Figure 6 on
3
page 101.
We recommend cleaning the grill after each use, with the
Barbecook cleaner. Proceed as follows:
Turn the tray upside down and put the grill in the tray.
1
Spray the foam on the grill and let it act for a while.
2
The foam discolours, as it soaks off the dirt and greases.
Remove the foam with a bristle and water.
3
Rinse the grill thoroughly and dry it well.
4
Rub the grill lightly with oil and wrap it in paper. This
5
prevents formation of rust.
Store the grill indoors, in a dry place.
6
You can also clean the grill with a soft detergent or with
2
sodium bicarbonate. Never use oven cleaners on the grill.

8.3 Storing the appliance

Store the appliance in a dry place (indoors, under a shelter...)
after each use.
Make sure the appliance is completely dry before you
2
store it. This prevents formation of rust.
8.4 Maintaining enamel, stainless steel,
chrome and cast iron parts
The appliance is composed of enamelled, stainless steel,
chromed and cast iron parts. Each material has to be maintained
differently:

contact with chlorine, salt and iron. We recommend not
using the appliance near the coast, near railways or near
swimming pools.

1
regarded as inadequate maintenance and are not
covered by the warranty.
Below the exploded view of your appliance (second part of the
manual), you find a list with all parts of which the appliance is
composed. This list includes a symbol that specifies the material
of each part, so you can use it to check how you have to maintain
