sary to check the type of tape being used.

— 25 in and 26 out (NORMAL) = ferrous oxide cassette (120 us).
— 26 in and 25 out (CrO5) = chrome dioxide cassette (70 us).
— 25 and 26 in (METAL) = cassette/pure iron tape (70 us).

— Press button lil À 18 or 6: the cassette holder flap 2 or 1 opens
— |nsert the cassette in the cassette holder flap with the magnetic tape
downwards and the full spool on the left.
Dolby noise reduction system
Dolby B-C NR
In addition to having the world-reknowned Dolby B noise reduction
System, your cassette deck is also equipped with the new Dolby C NR
System which improves the dynamic values of your own recordings by
approximately 18 dB.
Using the Dolby NR system will make high-quality recordings even
clearer. The noise reduction feature is effective during both recording
and playback.
If the Dolby NR system has been used to record a cassette, it will have
to be used again during playback, otherwise playback would contain
too many high-pitched sounds and would be unpleasant.
Similarly, cassettes which have been recorded without the Dolby NR
system should be played back without this system, to avoid tone
distortion.
Choose the type of noise reduction circuit.
— Press button 22
for Dolby B NR release button 24
for Dolby C NR press button 24 to lock it.
Important: If you do not wish to use any of the noise reduction circuits,
press button 22 to unlock it.
Playback
The cassette recorders 1 and 2 can be used to:
— play a cassette on each of them,
— play two cassettes in succession.
N. B.: The indicators of assemblies 31 and 30 light up in relation to the
output level.
