Names and functions of keys

®@ In the Onkyo audio system section, remote control
codes of audio systems with the Onkyo
(RI
mark
are already memorized.
Remote control can be used
to operate these functions as a system by connecting
coordinated components.
There may be cases where the RC-AV10M does not
offer the same function keys for different products.
If operation cannot be performed with a code in the
ONKYO AUDIO SYSTEM section, please perform a
"learn" operation to memorize the code with the
RC-AV10M.
Only one code can be learned by each key.
System Power key (SYSTEM
POWER)
Used to turn on and off the power to the audio system.
Sleep Timer key (SLEEP)
Operates the Sleep Timer function.
Each time the key
is pressed, the following cycle advances one step (unit
= minutes):

The Sleep Timer feature is offered on select ONKYO
components.
Input Selector keys and Tape Monitor key (iN-
PUT SELECTOR)
Select a desired program source: CD DIRECT, CD,
PHONO, TUNER, VCR-1/VDP, VCR-2, TAPE-1, or
TAPE-2 MONITOR, using these keys.
Audio Muting key (MUTING)
Used to temporarily remove or turn down the volume.
Pressing it once again returns the volume to its original
level.
Volume keys ( A UP — VOLUME—

DOWN)
Used to raise and lower the volume of the audio
equipment.
Phono Operation key (PLAY/REJECT)
The turntable PLAY/REJECT key.
Tuner Operation
Keys.
( A UP — PRESET —

DOWN)
When the UP or DOWN key is pressed, the next higher
or lower memory channel is recalied.
CD Operation keys (CD)
>» PLAY
: Press this key to begin disc play.

PAUSE
: Temporarily halts disc play.
@ STOP
: Press this key to stop disc play.

: Press this key during disc play to re-
turn to the beginning of the current
tracks. Press twice to return to the
beginning of the previous track, three
times for the track before that, and
so on.
at
: Press this key during disc play to
advance to the beginning of one of
the following tracks. The number of
times this key is pressed determines
how many tracks are skipped.

Tape Deck Operation keys (DECK-B)
(DECK-A/VCR/VDP)
Deck A and/or Deck B of a Auuiblé cassette tape deck
with the Onkyo
FRE mark can be operated using these
keys.
When using remote control operation of only one deck
of a double cassette tape deck, or when using a single
cassette tape deck, please use Deck B. In the Deck A
section, operation of a VDP or a second VCR can be
learned.

: When this is pressed, the recording stand-by
mode is entered.

: The tape plays, moving from right to left, or, in
the recording stand-by mode, recording begins.

~~: Interrupts all operations.

: The tape plays, moving from left to right, or, in
the recording stand-by mode, recording begins.
: Fast forward from right to left.
: Fast forward from left to right.
VCR Operation keys (VCR)
Power Key (POWER):
Used to turn the power supply
to the VCR on and off.
TV/VCR Selector
Key (TV/VCR):
Used to select a VCR tuner
or TV set.
Used to start recording of im-
ages with your video cassette
recorder.
Press both REC
buttons at the same time to
start VCR recording or to
"learn" the commands of your
VCR remote control transmit-
ter.
Play Key (»):
Used to start playback of the VCR.
Pause Key ( su ): Used to temporarily interrupt the
VCR.
Used to stop operation of the VCR.
Fast forward scanning is performed
when the VCR is in play mode.
REW Key (<4 ):Fast rewind scanning is performed
when the VCR is in play mode.
TV/CATV
Operation Keys (TV/CATV)
(for te-
levision tuner or cable converter unit)
Power Key (POWER): Used to turn the power supply
to the TV or cable converter unit
on or off.
Preset Station Keys (1~0, A~H):
Used to preset TV/CATV stations.
UP—CHANNEL—DOWN
Keys (4—CHANNEL— ¥ ):
Used to change the channel of TV/CATV.
UP—VOLUME—DOWN
Keys (4—VOLUME— ¥ ):
Used to:taise and lower the volume of the TV.
REC Keys ( -REC-):
Stop Key (M):
FF Key ( p> ):
Video/Enter Key (VIDEO ENTER)
Video:
This key is between TV broadcast reception
and a video monitor.
Enter:
Use this key after pressing the TV channel
number.
(Depending on the TV, this may not
be necessary, or there may be a Plus 10 key.)
