Pull the two halves of the bracket apart
so that the red blade (1) remains in the
left part. The right half with the frame
strap (2) that connects the two halves is
now passed under the top tube - possibly
also under the down tube in the case of
very solid frames and a mounting close
to the head tube - and plugged together
above the top tube with the blade (1).
To compensate for narrower top tube
widths or to generally provide a stronger
clamp, the enclosed foam ring can be at-
tached between the frame and the front
bracket if necessary.
You can protect the top tube and possi-
bly the down tube from scratches at the
mounting point of the front bracket or
the ski tips by using the frame protection
film (cut to size as required).
The two strap ends of the frame strap (2)
that protrude from the top of the bracket
are pulled as tight as possible so that
the rack can no longer be lifted upwards.
Finally the buckle (3) is closed in the
middle and tightened so that the bracket
halves can no longer be pulled apart.
As the Hypalon strap runs relatively
snugly through the buckle, this re-ten-
sioning may have to be done separately
on the left and right with the buckle
open and then the buckle closed tightly.
This adjustment only needs to be made
once initially, after which the bracket can
simply be split and dismantled after ope-
ning the buckle and then reattached and
secured with the buckle when required.
