Short protocol Homogeniser Precellys
Move the cursor with the help of the arrow keys to the
program of your choice and confirm with 'valid'.
The display now shows the selected program. Depend-
ing on the position of the double cursor you can start
the program or change the parameter. By using 'can-
cel' the previous main menu appears.
After moving the cursor in the upper row and confirm-
ing with 'valid' the parameters of the program can be
set. From the left to the right the parameters speed,
number and duration of agitation intervals and the rest
time between an agitation interval can be defined
within the limits described in 'technical data'. For that
purpose the flashing (= active) value has to be
changed with the arrow keys and the set value con-
firmed with 'valid'. After that the next parameter starts
to flash and can be set.
The programming is finished after having confirmed
the value for the rest time of the intervals [PAUSE (s)].
The parameters of the changed program are shown in
the display, the double cursor points at 'START', so that
the program run can be directly started by confirming
with 'valid'.

Sample preparation

Put your sample/lysis buffer into a 2 ml or 7 ml screw cap tube of the appropriate Precellys lysis kit and
close the tube properly. To prevent tube breakage caused by thermal expansion please pay attention
that the volume of sample and buffer will not exceed 1.4 ml in 2 ml tubes and 5 ml in 7 ml tubes. Using
the big ceramic or steel beads (CK28 or MK28) the volume should be at least 500 μl, because the
power of the beads – especially at higher speed or longer agitation time – could lead to tube breakage
(see also 'TROUBLESHOOTING' and 'APPLICATIVE TIPS').
