1. Select the pH range by pressing MODE. The display will immediately show the
measured pH according to the previous calibration. Should you want to recali-
brate, press CAL.
2. Rinse the electrodes with distilled water and immerse them in the first buffer
solution.
3. The display shows one of the 9 buffers in memory (b1) or the manual input (M1)
of user specified buffers, e.g. [b1=4.01] while [b1] or [M1] is blinking. Select
the proper buffer and press CAL. If you wish to change the manual buffer, first
press RES to reset to the proper value and then press CAL.
4. The instrument shows the measured buffer and will calibrate automatically
when readings are stable ([=] stops blinking). If the buffer has a different tem-
perature, compensate the indicated value manually (not necessary when using
a Pt1000).
5. Go on in the same way with all the next buffer (b2) and always press CAL. Press
MODE to start the measurements.
6. After rinsing the electrodes with distilled water, immerse them in the samples
and read the pH-value from the display.
7. Rinse the electrodes always with distilled water after use and store them in a
3...4 M KCl solution.
1. Select the conductivity range by pressing MODE (the display shows [µS] or [MS])
and press CAL.
2. The display will show the cell constant (e.g. [cc=1.073]). Press CAL to start the
automatic determination procedure.
3. The display shows one of the KCl standard solutions in memory [St=0.01M][cc]
(1413 µS/cm), [St=0.1M][cc] (12.88 mS/cm), [St=1M][cc] (111.8 mS/cm) or the
manual input [St=MAn]. Select the proper standard.
4. This step is skipped unless the manual input has been chosen. The display
shows e.g. [MS=10.00][cc] while the units are blinking. Choose between 1.000
(units), 10.00 (tens) or 100.0 (hundreds) the desired calibration range and
press CAL again. The display shows e.g. [MS=1.234][cc] while [=] is blinking.
Select the desired standard value.
5. After rinsing the cell several times with the standard solution, immerse it the
standard solution. The solution temperature is not so critical but it should lie
between 0°C and 30°C. If the standard has a different temperature, compen-
sate the indicated value manually (not necessary when using a Pt1000). Press
CAL.
6. The display will show the computed cell constant e.g. [cc=1.045] and will cali-
brate automatically when readings are stable ([=] stops blinking). Press MODE
to start the measurements.
7. Rinse the electrodes with the sample and immerse them in it.
8. Read the display (remember: compensated to the reference temperature!).
The autoranging feature gives you the largest possible number of digits + their
unit.
9. Rinse the cell always after use and store it in distilled water (add some deter-
gent to keep the spongy platinum surface in perfect condition).
• Press RES to switch between ppm (TDS: ppm = mg/l, ppt = g/l), SAL (salinity),
S/cm (conductivity) or Ω.cm (resistivity: E6 = MΩ, E3 = kΩ, E0 = Ω).
