Fit the following transistors:
T1 (next to R12), BC547 type or equivalent
T2 (next to C12), BC557 type or equivalent
Fit the following capacitors:
C1 and C2, 18pF
C3, 3n9 ceramic or MKM (sometimes marked 392)
C4, 47nF ceramic (sometimes marked 473)
C5, 100nF (sometimes marked 104)
C12, 10nF sibatit (sometimes marked 10nS or 103)
Fit the following electrolytic capacitors. Pay attention to the
polarity!:
C6, 2.2uF
C7, 4.7uF
C8 and C9, 10uF
C10, 47uF
C11, 100uF
Fit the 4MHz crystal X1.
Fitting the IR diode and the push button on the solder side:
- First cut off the leads of IC1, R7, R12, C11 and C5 as short as
possible.
- Fit the IR diode. Pay attention to the polarity! The cathode is
marked with a little dot on one of its two connections. This dot
must correspond with the dark line on the component side of the
pcb, the anode then corresponds with the A marked on the
component side (see also fig. 1.0).
- Fit push button SW. Pay attention to not warm up its leads too
long, because this might irreparably damage the push button!
Insert the IC's into their sockets:
IC1, MC3373 type, with its notch towards C9.
IC2, VK6712/13 or PIC16C54 type, with its notch towards R2.
