TAPE PLAYBACK
BASIC OPERATIONS

e Use Type I (normal) tape only.
This unit cannot take full
advantage of Type II (chrome) or Type IV (metal) tape.
7 Press the TAPE button and press the M/A button
to open the cassetie hoider.
2 Insert a tape the exposed side down. Push the
cassette holder to close.
3 Press the P button to start playback.
To stop play
Press the l/& button.
To pause play
Press the If button.
To resume play, press again.
To fast forward or rewind
Press the PB
or <<
button in stop mode.
Then press the
V/A button to stop the tape.
When the end of tape is reached
The tape stops and the buttons are released.
To play back the
other side, turn the cassette over.
When both deck 1 and deck 2 are in playback mode
The playback on deck 2 is heard.
9 ENGLISH
CONTINUOUS PLAY
After playback on one deck finishes, the tape in the other deck
will start to play without interruption.
A tape on deck 2 is played back first and a tape on deck 1 is
followed.
Insert the tape to be played first into deck 2.
Insert the tape to be played next into deck 1.
Press the TAPE button to select the TAPE function.
Press the ® button on deck 2 to start playback on deck 2.
Press the IE button and ® button on deck 1.
When the playback on deck 2 finishes, the if button of deck
1 is released and playback starts on deck 1.

If you use the unit near a television, noise may be heard in the
playback sound. In this case, move the unit further away from
the television or turn off the television.
About cassette tapes
* To prevent accidental erasure, break off the plastic tabs
on the cassette tape after recording with a screwdriver or
other pointed tool.

Tab for side A
To record on the tape again, cover the tab openings with
adhesive tape, etc.
* 120-minute or longer tapes are extremely thin and easily
deformed or damaged. They are not recommended.
* Take up any slack in the tape with a pencil or similar too!
before use. Slack tape may break or jam in the mechanism.
