Operation.
This section of the Operating
Instructions deals with functions of the
set which are "operated both directly
after initial use, and repeatedly during
subsequent use. These are basically:
program selection and adjustment of
picture, colour and sound.
Switching ON and OFF.
At the set.
If the set has heen switched off with the
power switch ©), press the power
button to switch on. The program stored
under O1 on the screen.
Always switch the set off with the
power switch if you do not intend to use
it for any length of time, e.g. overnight
or before going on holiday - this also
applies when there is a storm!
With the remote control.
If the set has been switched on with the
power switch, switch it over to standby
with the OFF key ©) on the remote
control. Now a small red dot will now
glow above the power button. A section
of the electronic circuitry will remain in
operation, so that you can switch your
TV on with the remote control.
To switch on, press the @) key.
The program last selected will appear
on the screen. You can also switch on
with one of the numeric keys 0-9; you
will then select a program with a single-
digit number directly.
The set should only be switched
to standby for brief periods out of use.
In all other cases, always switch off at
the power button on the set!
if at any time, you should find
that it is not possible to adjust the set
from the remote control, switch it OFF
with the power button and then ON
again. You will find that it will then
respond to the remote control again.
Safety lock.
You can prevent the set being switched
on without your consent, by children for
example. Switch the set ON. Open the
sliding cover of the remote control to its
fullest extent and press the "Safety
Lock" key © briefly. The screen will
then display whether the safety lock has
been engaged or disengaged; if you will
see <Lock Off> and you want to
engage the safety lock, depress the key
@© for about 2 seconds; <Lock On>
will then be superimposed.
Then, switch the TV off with the power
switch C) at the set.
From now on, the set can no
longer be switched ON without the
remote control. You should of course
keep the remote control in a safe place,
away from children, etc.
if you want to cancel the safety
lock, switch the set ON with the power
switch 5. the set will now be switched
to STANDBY. Switch ON with the remote
control and depress the "Safety Lock"
key © for about 2 seconds; the screen
will then display <Lock Off>.
Automatic cutout.
If your set is not receiving any station,
or one with a TV standard incorrectly
set , it will switch over to standby
automatically after 5 minutes. If, for
example, you have forgotten to switch
your set off, it will switch over to
standby automatically 5 minutes after
close of transmission.
Selecting programs.
With the remote control.
There are two alternatives: either using
the numeric keys, or with the "Program
UP" @ or "Program DOWN" © keys.
If you wish to select a single-digit
program number, hold one of the
numeric keys down. On the screen, you
will see first of all the number selected
as the first digit. It will then jump across
to form the second digit and a 0 will be
placed in front of it. For 2-digit program
numbers from 10 to 50, press the
numeric keys briefly in sequence. You
can switch up to the next program with
the "Program UP"
key or down to
the next lowest program_number with
the "Program DOWN" © key.
On the set.
Advance from one
program to the next
with the Program
(+) key, and back
again with the (), in the same way as
with the remote control.
