OPERATING PRECAUTIONS
The conditions listed below do not indicate mechanical
failure of the unit. If your machine exhibits any of the
following please check for trouble as indicated.
Lows of sensitivity. of tone quality may be due to:
Wrong side of tape facing the heads.

Dust or magnetic particles adhering to the heads.
See head cleaning procedure,

Magnetized
heads,
See head demagnetizing pro-
cedure,
*
Defective or worn tape,
Inregularity of tape transport may be due to:
Dust of magnetic particles adhering to the heads
and other parts which the tape contacts. See head
cleaning procedure,
*
Dirty tape surface
or oil adhering to capstan or
pinch wheel.

Bent Take-Up Reel,
* — Tape loaded improperly.
Jf your machine will not record or playback, check to
see that connections
are correct and controls' are
properly positioned.
The following notes are provided for your convenience,
Your machine requires constant vottage for opti-
mum performance,

If the sound sources are so far away from the
micropffones that the recording level controls must
be turned up to maximum, some hum or noise wil!

Chute de sensibilité ou de tonalité, peut étre causé par:

Poussiéres ou particules magnétiques adhérant aux
tétes, Voir les instructions de nettoyage de téte,

Tétes magnétisées. Se reporter aux instructions de
démagnétisation de téte,

Bande défectueuse ou usée,
Transport de bande irrégulier, peut étre causé par:

De
Ja poussitre
ou
des particules
magnétiques
adhérant aux tétes ov & d'autres pidces entrant en
contact avec Ja bande. Se reporter aux instructions
de nettoyage de téte.
*
Surface de bande sale ou présence d'huile sur le
cabestan ou le galet presseur.
* — Bobine réceptrice déformée,
*
Bande mal chargée.
Si votre appareil ne fonctionne pas soit en lecture soit
en enregistrement
vérifier pour voir si les raccorde-
ments sont correctement effectués et gs Jes commandes
sont bien positionnées,

Pour
une
performance
optimum
votre
appareil
exige une tension constante,
* — Si Ja source de son se trouve tellement éloignée des
micros qu'il faille tourner a fond les commandes
de niveau
d'enregistrement,
un certain
bruit de
fond se trouvera alors inévitablement enregistré. II

Falsch
eingelegtes
Tonband
(Riickseite
bei den
Tonképfen).
*
Staub oder Bandabrieb an den Tonképfen. Siehe
"Reinigung der Tonképfe",
*
Magnetisierte Tonképfe, Siehe "'Entmagnetisieren
der Tonképfe".
*
Schadhaftes oder tiberbeansprechtes Tonband,
Ursache fiir ungleichmafiigen Bandtransport kann sein:
*
Staub oder Bandabrieb an den Tonkdpfen oder an
anderen Teilen, die mit dem Tonband in Berithrung
kommen. Siehe "Reinigung der Tonképfe".
*
Verschmutztes Tonband
oder 6! auf Tonwelle
baw. Andruckrolle.
*
Verbogene Spule.
*
Tonband schlecht eingelegt.
Wenn
Sie mit Ihrem Gerit nicht aufnehmen oder
wiedergeben
kénnen,
Uberpriifen
Sie die Anschiut-
kabel, und iiberzeugen Sie sich, daf die Funktionshebel
und Schalter richtig eingestellt sind.
Beacnen Sie, bitte, noch folgendes:
Optimale Betriebsleistungen erzielen Sie nur bei
konstanter Versorgungsspannung.

Befindet
sich die Schallquelle
so weit von den
Mikrophonen
weg,
da®
Sie die Aufnahmepegel-
regler flir optimale Aussteuerung auf MAX stellen
miissen,
so
wird
unweigerlich
ein
stdrendes
Brummen oder Rauschen mit aufgenommen. Es ist
daher in diesem Fall empfehlenswert, eine Probe-
aufnahme zu machen.
Sollte an Ihrem Gerit irgendein Gebrechen auftreten,
notieren Sie, bitte, Modell, Seriennummer und alle fir
die Garantiedeckung wichtigen Daten sowie eine mdg-
lichst genaue Beschreibung des Fehlers, und. setzen Sie
sich
mit

niichsten Akai-Service-Werkstatt in
Verbindung.
