Info: The waffle mould inside the
appliance has a non-stick coating.
DO NOT use anti-stick sprays on this
appliance. Before pouring in the batter,
some vegetable oil can be dribbled onto
the waffle mould inside the appliance
so that the finished baked waffle can be
more easily removed from the mould once
it is cooked. Lateral vapour formation and
condensation on the appliance during
operation is normal and to be expected.
TIPS AND TRICKS
• Wearing oven gloves and using oven
gloves will protect you from accidentally
touching the hot surface and from
escaping steam when the appliance is
opened.
• Fillings such as meat, poultry, fish
and eggs should be pre-cooked, and
frozen foods thawed before use. The
baking time is not long enough and the
baking temperature is not hot enough
to adequately cook these raw/uncooked
or frozen ingredients intended for the
filling.
• The first layer of batter should be just
enough to coat the bottom of the waffle
mould. After the batter has been given a
few seconds to set, it will begin to rise a
little. Then add the filling (in the middle
of the batter mass). The filling should
not be added near the edges of the
batter. After adding the filling, cover with
the remaining batter, close the appliance
(DO NOT LOCK), and turn it over.
• If using canned fruit that is in a syrup or
fruit juice (not a ready-made filling),
18
drain as much as possible before using it
as a filling.
• If the ingredients have a firm
consistency, such as diced ham,
scrambled eggs or nuts, the filling can
be gently pressed into the batter with
the back of a spoon. Make sure to cover
the filling with a second layer of batter.
• The 13 cm diameter appliance holds
approximately 1 cup of batter for an
unfilled waffle. The 18 cm diameter
appliance holds approximately 1½ cups
of batter for an unfilled waffle. Filled
waffles require less batter. The batter
and filling should not exceed ¾ of the
waffle mould. The batter expands during
the baking process.
• Only use non-metallic cooking utensils
to avoid scratching the coating. Do not
remove or prise food from the mould
with sharp cooking utensils such as
knives or forks, as this will scratch the
non-stick coating.
• Do not use steel wool or scouring pads.
These can leave rough scratches.
Always rinse thoroughly and dry
immediately with a soft cloth.
• Never stand the appliance upright
during the baking process. Only stand
the appliance upright for storage.
NOTE:
1 cup corresponds to a cup of
approximately 240 ml capacity!
1 Tsp = 1 teaspoon, 1 Tbsp = 1 tablespoon.
