The child lock
It is possible to lock all functions using the child
lock.
Even a cassette which is inserted later must remain
in the recorder until it is unlocked.
Activating the child lock
Call up the info table using the h button.

Use the DC buttons to select the » Child lock «

line and call it up using the G button.

Enter a four-digit code number using the numbered

buttons 1 ... 0 and confirm it using the G but-
ton.
– The recorder switches the table off.
– Display at recorder: » LOCKED « and the time.

The recorder is locked.

If you forget or lose the code number, your dealer
can assist you.
Deactivating the child lock
Press any button.

– The » Child lock « table appears. In place of the
code number, » « appears in the table.

Enter the four-digit code number using the numbe-

button.
– The recorder switches the table off, the lock is
deactivated.

Setting the function display
(OSD – ON SCREEN DISPLAY)
It is possible to adjust the duration of the function
displays which appear on the TV screen.

Call up the info table using the h button.

Remote control of other GRUNDIG
video recorders
With this remote control you can control different
GRUNDIG video recorders independently of each
other. 1
You can use it with your GV 500 and a second
recorder from the series VS 600 to VS 900 and the
GV 200 and later models. 2
The GV 500 must be adapted in order for the recor-
ders to respond correctly to the remote control
commands.
Preparation
1 Switch the TV set on.
2 Select the programme position for the video recor-
der at the TV set (AV programme position).

Remote control of two recorders
When the switch is in the VIDEO 2 position, you can
control your GV 500;
When the switch is in the VIDEO 1 position, you can
control the second recorder.

If the 1 VIDEO 2 switch is not set to the selected
VCR address when controlling your GV 500, the
indication » VID I « or » VID 2 « on the recorder
advises you that you must switch the remote
control to the other VCR address.
