• Leave the active steam
extraction switched on for a
couple of minutes to allow
the cover of the ironing
table to dry completely.
• Switch off the appliance
(position A).
• Disconnect mains plug and
coil power cord around the
cable holder.
Always allow the hot iron to

dry before placing it in the
rest.
Note: Please check if the steam
iron is correctly placed and fixed
to make sure the iron does not fall
out during the transport.
• Pull up and fold steam tube
support.
• Store steam tube.

Always disconnect the

steam boiler to cool down
before performing any
maintenance work.
Rinsing/Descaling the
Steam Boiler
If your steam boiler is used
normally, we recommend
that you rinse it out with hot
water every 1 - 2 months .
In addition to this, the steam
boiler should be descaled
once a year using Kärcher
bio-descaler RM 511.
Use distilled water in case of
very hard water (> 21° dH/
3.8 mmol/l).

• Disconnect system plug,
release lock at handle, and
remove steam boiler.
Note: Unwind the power cord
before removing the steam
boiler. Make sure that the iron is
securely fixed in the rest.

Note: Only open the safety lock
when the steam boiler has cooled
down and is unpressurized.
Descaling
• Empty out the water from
the steam boiler before
descaling the appliance.
• Take the steam iron out of
the rest and place the
steam boiler completely on
a level surface.
• Dissolve 100 g bio-descaler
RM 511(1 packet) in 1.4
litres of warm water.
Note: Do not fill in more than
1.4 litres. Otherwise, the solution
will react on the lime and will
foam over out of the opening.
• Fill this solution into the
steam boiler and allow to
react for 8-10 hours.
Do not close the steam
!
boiler, and do not switch
the steam boiler on as long
as it still contains des-
caling agent.
• Evacuate the solution, and
rinse out the steam boiler 2
to 3 times with fresh water.
Rinsing out
• Fill the steam boiler with
0.5 l water.
• Close the steam boiler and
shake it in order to loosen
the lime residues.
• Dump the water.
Cleaning the Steam
Iron
• If the special steel sole
plate of your iron is dirty,
clean it with a commercially
available special steel
sponge. Subsequently, only
wipe the appliance using a
damp cloth.
Do never remove dried pieces of
fluff or burnt-in textile remainders
using peaked sharp objects.
Cleaning the Steam
Ironing Station
• Only wipe the appliance
using a damp cloth.
• The ironing cover can be
washed in a washing
machine (max. 60 °C).
