WARNING!
Physical injuries and damage to property and the
environment caused by improper handling.
Incorrect opening or closing of a valve can lead to the escape
of media. Incorrect handling while mounting/dismounting the
valve can lead to a work accident and damage the product.
▶
The operator must be aware of the consequences prior to
changing the state to a specific valve position.
▶
Suitable lifting equipment must be used for the safe
handling of heavy products.
7.1 Maintenance
To prevent leakage or malfunction due to wear and seal degradation, the
operator must prepare a list for preventive maintenance and inspection.
The maintenance cycle depends on process media, environment condi-
tions and system working conditions.
Maintenance without dismounting
Perform a visual check:
Valve is in expected position.
■
Environment is vibration-free and clean.
■
Valve operation is not limited or obstructed.
■
Locate possible leakages
■
At the valve stem
–
At the process and instrument connections
–
Ensure that opening/closing of the valve(s) cannot lead to an unsafe
■
condition. Cycle the valve(s) a few times to prevent seizure.
