THE DIGITAL OUTPUT
The digital output is located on the rear panel. It is fitted with a RCA socket
according to IEC 958, unbalanced at 75 ohms output impedance. However, the
level at this output complies with AES-3-id (1 Vss).
The data word on this output is the same as on the activated input.

INPUT SELECTION

With the "INPUT" switch on the front panel one of two/three inputs may be
selected. A valid input signal is displayed by the green "LOCK" LED.
No input signal, an unvalid input signal or a signal with a sample rate
28 < Fs < 210 kHz is displayed by the red "ERROR" LED.
Concerning DAC C410, the middle position of the switch will enable a mute.
On DAC C416 the USB input is engaged when present. If not, also a mute will
follow.
HINT: A digital input signal with emphasis is treated by a digital deemphasis
circuit inside the converter chip - in a correct manor only with a sample rate of
44.1 kHz. This is not a big problem, because emphasis signals normally appear
only with the "CD frequency" 44.1 kHz.
When the sample rate of the emphasis signal is different to 44.1 kHz, wrong
conversion of higher frequency analogue signals have to be considered.
