Procedure
1. Disconnect hydraulically charged accumu-
lators from the system with shut-off valve 3
[III-2].
2. Use pressure relief spindle 4 [III-2] to
slowly drain the hydraulic accumulator on
the fluid side.
3. Watch the pressure gauge 2 [III-2].
The pressure will initially fall slowly. It will
drop suddenly only after the accumulator
has drained completely. This pressure is
the same as the pre-charge pressure of
the hydraulic accumulator.
4. If the pre-charge pressure is different from
the required pressure, the pre-charge
pressure should be corrected where
possible – see Charging procedure
[sec. 5.1].

DANGER
● Before carrying out any work on the
hydraulic accumulator, the relevant safety
precautions must be taken.
● Risk of suffocation: Ensure adequate
ventilation when discharging nitrogen
from the hydraulic accumulator in
enclosed spaces.
● Wear noise protection, eye protection and
hand protection.
Rechargeable versions
1. Depressurise the fluid side.
2. Release pre-charge pressure.
3. Remove closing elements (e.g. valves/
plugs) on the gas side and the fluid side.
4. Disassemble the hydraulic accumulator
into its constituent parts and dispose of
them according to material type in
accordance with national laws and direc-
tives.
Sealed gas connection versions
1. Depressurise the fluid side.
2. Secure the hydraulic accumulator.
3. Drill a hole in the diaphragm on the fluid
side (drill bit ≤ 4 mm) and release the pre-
charge pressure.
4. Dispose of the hydraulic accumulator.
