Cleaning the steam nozzle

After preparing milk froth, remove the collar from the steam nozzle
. Thoroughly wipe the nozzle using a moist cloth and dry it,
thoroughly wash the collar under running water, dry and set back into place.
Notice: The steam nozzle and collar are very hot in use. Always handle the steam nozzle using the safety grip, leave the nozzle and the
collar to cool down before cleaning.
Cleaning the coff ee machine
Clean the drip grid and dish under running water; they are dishwasher safe. Clean the water reservoir using normal cleaning agents
under running water and dry, do not wash in dishwasher. Clean the warmer and the other stainless steel and plastic surfaces using
a moist cloth and dry. Do not wash the coff ee machine under running water or in dishwasher.

Storage and maintenance

If you do not use the coff ee machine, store it with the water reservoir clean and empty. If the coff ee machine does not work properly,
proceed following the instructions in the next section. Do not repair a coff ee machine yourself; instead contact a TESCOMA retail
centre or service centre; for contact details, go to www.tescoma.com.
Quick troubleshooting
Coff ee fl owing out of the top of the lever.
- There is too much coff ee in the fi lter or the coff ee is too tightly packed. Repeat the process of dosing and preparing coff ee.
- Coff ee in the fi lter is too fi nely ground. Use coff ee ground to a degree suitable for preparing espresso.
- There are residues of spent coff ee on the seal in the opening for lever attachment. Clean the opening with seal for lever attachment.
- The seal in the opening for lever attachment is defunct due to prolonged use. Contact a TESCOMA service centre.
The pressure pump produces unusual sounds.
- There is no water in the reservoir. Add water to the reservoir.
- The water reservoir is placed wrongly in the coff ee machine. Check the reservoir and place it correctly in the coff ee machine.
The coff ee prepared is not hot enough.
- The coff ee machine was not heated to the operating temperature before starting coff ee preparation. Repeat the process of
switching on the coff ee machine, dosing and preparing coff ee.
The coff ee prepared is too dark.
- Too much coff ee has been placed in the fi lter or the coff ee is too tightly packed. Repeat the process of dosing and preparing coff ee.
- The metal strainer in the coff ee maker lever is clogged. Clean the strainer by thoroughly rinsing it or using a brush.
- Scale has formed on the parts inside the coff ee machine. Decalcify the coff ee machine.
The coff ee prepared is too weak.
- There is too little coff ee in the fi lter, the coff ee in the fi lter is not suffi ciently packed or too coarsely ground coff ee has been used.
Use coff ee ground to a degree suitable for preparing espresso and repeat the process of dosing and preparing coff ee.
The lever with the fi lter inserted cannot be fastened in the coff ee machine.
- Too much coff ee is placed inside the fi lter. Repeat the coff ee dosing process.
- The lever has been inserted into the opening in the coff ee machine under a wrong angle. Insert the lever again under the correct
angle.
- The lever or the opening for inserting the lever is damaged. Contact a TESCOMA Service Centre.
No steam fl ows out of the steam nozzle.
- The nozzle and its collar have not been properly cleaned. Clean the collar and nozzle; clean the nozzle orifi ce with a narrow brush
if it is clogged. Decalcify the steam nozzle of the coff ee machine if needed.
