SETTING-UP THE OVEN
There are 3 ways to enter the desired settings for cooking your food.
•
You may set-up the oven manually. In this case, all settings will be lost after stop-
ping the oven program. Use this method for dishes you prepare only rarely and/
or with varying settings each time (see: 'Controlling the Oven Manually').
•
You can use a pre-defined oven program with factory settings optimized for
applications frequently used (see: 'Using a Pre-Defined Oven Program'). You can
change these settings anyway.
•
Define your own oven program for your favourite meal. With this method, your
settings will be kept in memory even after shut-off and disconnecting the oven
from the power supply (see: 'Saving Your Own Oven Program').
Controlling the Oven Manually
In manual mode, you must enter the desired settings newly every time and all settings
will be lost after finishing the oven program. If you wish to save your settings in the
oven memory, use the oven program Custom (see: 'Saving Your Own Oven Program').
Important: If neither the cooking time nor the temperature is flashing on the display
area, you can use the selection buttons < and > to choose a pre-defined oven
program. The currently selected oven program will be shown on the program area
of the control panel (see: 'Using a Pre-Defined Oven Program'). In this case, all
manual settings you have entered just before will be lost.
Tip: Please keep in mind that the oven may need some minutes to reach the selected
temperature. Adapt the cooking time accordingly. However, the Design Bistro Oven
Bake & Grill will reach the set temperature in an unusual short time (max. 10 minutes),
depending on the set temperature. Additionally the distance to the heating elements is
smaller than that of a common oven. With some types of food (e.g. buns) it is good
advice to select a somewhat lower baking temperature and a somewhat longer coo-
king time.
Note
By using the convection fan the oven will heat more efficiently. Reduce cooking
time/temperature accordingly to avoid burning food. You should use the convec-
tion fan whenever possible. However, some types of food may need an uneven
distribution of heat for best results. For example, pizza may need to be heated via
bottom or top heat to get crispy. Find out, which settings generate the best results
for your favourite dishes.
