Air Grinder
Attaching the Quick Coupler
The air grinder is equipped with a R¼" compressed air coupler. For safe
working do not permanently connect the grinder to the compressed air
hose but rather use a quick coupler. For a tight connection wrap the
threads in one or two layers of the included Teflon tape.
Hint: Professional users of compressed air tools do not connect the quick coupler
directly to the tool but install a permanent leader hose of about 30 cm length
between tool and quick coupler. This way the quick coupler is not exposed to the
vibrations of air tools and lasts much longer and the tool is also more convenient
to use.
Air Pressure and Air Volume
The air grinder requires a pressure of at least 6 bar and a compressor with an
airflow of at least 250 l/min. Use an air hose with an interior diameter of at least 9
mm. When setting the air pressure, please keep in mind that for every 10 m of a 9
mm hose the pressure drops by approximately 0.6 bar.
For a reliable, trouble-free operation and a long service life thorough maintenance
and lubrication are essential. For the operation of air tools clean air is required.
Corroded material, dust or dirt from the air line can compromise the performance
and cause technical problems. An air service unit with filter, pressure reducing
valve and air line lubricator removes the water from the compressed air, provides
reliable pressure and adds the required oil to the air.
Lubrication: Compressed air tools require sufficient lubrication. The best way to
supply the oil to the tool is an air line lubricator, either centrally on the end of the
air line. The flexible air hose between the lubricator and the tool should be no
longer than 10 m. In longer hoses the oil will separate from the air and float in the
hose without reliably reaching the tool!
