1. Overview

1-1. Introduction

The BL55-RE series is an open-type LASERSCALE with integrated detector containing a built-in reference
point. The interface unit is supplied with DC power at +5 V ± 5 % for output of A/B and Z signals, or analog
and reference point signals.
The scale signals have been electrically pre-adjusted at the factory, and so the user only needs to make the
reference point signal setting when installing the scale.

1-2. Main Features

\ Head signal cycle of 0.4 µm allows the interpolation error to be disregarded
\ Optical integrated circuits employing the latest semiconductor technology are used to achieve a compact
and low-energy design
\ Theoretically not affected by changes in temperature, air pressure, or by atmospheric fluctuations for
providing stable measurement
\ Maximum speed: 3,000 mm/s (analog output)

The reference point position is the distance from the measuring length end.

Refer to section 4-4-4 (Fig. 4-4).

The length can be specified in 0.1 m units in the range from 0.5 to 3.0 m.

The low-expansion material neoceram can be specified.
* The mounting dimensions and temperature expansion coefficient are different from the standard product
when neoceram is specified.
