2.2.3 SIMATIC FS400 3RG7845 Light Grids

are used in a vertical position, preferably for access guarding or perimeter guarding of
danger areas. They only detect a person's body during the access. When one or more
beams are interrupted by a person, the machine control unit must go into safe interlock
(see, Fig. 3.2-3).
The start/restart interlock function is therefore obligatory for access or perimeter
guarding! The start/restart button for unlocking the device must be mounted outside the
danger area in such a way that it cannot be reached from inside the danger area and
the entire danger area is fully visible from its installation position.
